"Someone told me I had to choose — hair or beauty. I decided they were wrong."
Emily's story starts in a Year 11 classroom, where she completed her Certificate II in Hairdressing while her classmates were still deciding what they wanted to be. A work experience placement with a beauty therapist lit something in her — and instead of choosing between two worlds, she quietly decided to master both.
She finished Year 12 alongside her Diploma of Beauty Therapy, then secured a hairdressing apprenticeship and graduated as a fully qualified hairdresser in 2019. She's worked as a senior stylist ever since, completing ambassador programs with several leading brands before settling on CPR and O&M — products she believes in enough to use on her own family.
In 2022 she met Michael. They married in March 2023, and now have two little boys — Jameson and Anthony. Their family is their whole world, and Michael is her true north. Em + Me is named for both of them — a love story baked quietly into a brand name.
The she-shed in Jimboomba is Emily's space — earthy, calm, and entirely hers. It's where she does her best work, one person at a time, without rush or compromise.
